Although the textbook is a wonder source and reading, which provides many insightful writing ideas, I tend to appreciate what they are teaching but still write in my own process because I do not like to follow main stream techniques. Even though I follow my own writing process, I still like to change it up when I feel the need. For Essay Three, the Research Essay, I decided to approach my style in a different way, and my research process impacted it greatly. My first set of references as resources were not beneficial to me whatsoever, therefore I had to find all new sources. During that process I knew that there would have to be a lot of support from my resources to help make my paper strong. In order to make sure that the sources did not overpower my own voice in my persuasion paper, I decided to write the entire in my own voice and add the synthesis and support last. Although this process might have been a little lengthier, I feel that my paper benefits from this greatly because it is turning out very strong. I always find researching to be a beneficial and necessary step in my writing process, but I no not feel that textbooks impact my writing very much; it can teach me facts or ideas, but it cannot write my ideas down onto paper. My writing process is a rainbow and my essay is a pot of gold.

Many people are familiar with what graphic design is as graphic design is one of the highest leading new jobs in Americas today. Graphic design is found all over on things such as magazines, T-shirts, billboards, posters, and any other type of advertisement that can be found. Graphic design is not a skill that just anybody can learn because the graphic designer has to know how to reach the audiance that they are trying to appeal to whether it be children, adolecents, parents, or grandparents. Not only do they have to appeal to the audiance but they also have to know how to add the right images and text to a piece in order for the meaning of the piece to be interperated. Because all of this stuff is needed it is, it is the newest fine art that allows today’s artists to use the technology that is availible. Everyone needs to realize that graphic design is a fine art, not merely a skill that anyone can just obtain.

This editorial will help be with essay three becuase it allows me to let my audiance know what I think that they won’t and to leave out what should already be known. Also to make sure to use good examples and have a super strong audiance appeal throughout the essay.

I think that it is was really interesting to have somebody else rewrite my paragraph becasue it allowed me to see if my audiance (the reader) found the same information important and clear as I had it in my paragraph. I learned that my rewriter did pick up my main concepts and points and understood my topic enough to rewrite it. I really enjoyed rewritting somebody else’s paragraph because I always like putting things in my own words and I like to read things that make the most coherent sence to me. I never feel uncomfortable doing this because it’s like proofreading in a way and I like to do that. Cheating is bad because it is against all rules and morals.

Writing proposals are very important because they allow writers to put down their ideas in an organized manner so that they know what they will be writing about as well as allowing others to know as well. I believe that a major perk to writing proposals is that it allows you to put your writing on paper so that you know if your ideas make sense outside of your head. Proposals are basically all of the important aspects of a writing compacted into a short paper. It is important to learn how to write a proposal because it will be very beneficial for future classes and careers. Other than that, the value of learning how to write a proposal allows you to understand how your writing process works. Even if a proposal paper is not assigned, it would still be very helpful for writers to gather together the most important parts of the ideas so that it will make the writing process much more fluid. I can see myself writing in this genre for maybe a art paper that I may have to write, for college scholarships that I may try to get, or for when I try to get a job, and possibly when I have a job.

My idea: Why digital art is still a fine art.
1. My issue is definetly current and relevant because digital art is very new in terms of types of artwork and many people question the authenticity of digital art. I would like to give background information on digital art as welll as some other fine arts in order to allow the readers to know and understand what it is that I will be talking about.
2. Many people have said that digital art should not be considered a fine art because they believe that it is more of a “skill” that one can learn and it does not involve creativity. Others say that it can be totally lost in history if any of the things in the file get messed up and does not really have “hard copies” like an origional drawing would, and that the technology is always upgradeing.
3. I completely understand what the other side is saying but I am in total disagreement. I don’t really think that too many artist would be misunderstanding this idea or anything, it’s just that they have their own opinions on that matter which usually is much more drastic than the ideas from non-artists. To get information I can use EBSCO host or ask other artists and art teachers.
4. For a possible thesis it will be for a arguing a position paper so my idea is : Although there are many artists and viewers who believe that digial art is not considered a fine art, digital art is the newest form of fine art.

After I rewent through the “6 Steps to Identifying Issues” it brushed me up on what it was that I was to do in order for me to choose the best topic for the essay that I will be writing in class. I thought about many different types of topics that interest me such as: (1) Why parents get too involved in high school sports and this concerns me because I had a sometimes overly involved in my high school sports. (2) Why digital art is still a fine art and authentic and this involves my major because it is graphic design and many artists believe that art done on computers rather than painting and drawing are not considered an art rather more of a skill. (3) With all of these different religions in the world, they are actually very similar so people should not descriminate against other religions. (4) Styrofoam is consuming the planet and there needs to be a different supplement and this raises my attention because even places like The Sundial uses way too much. Due to the fact that I was able to think of different ideas that are important to myself, I was also able to get these ideas into questions that could be solved in my essay. I believe that with these topics that I chose, I will be able to find very relivant sources that I will be able to use for the synthesis in my paper. Now it is is time for me to choose the best topic that I will use for my final essay, the topic that I feel is the strongest is and most personal and creative would be to choose the one about all of the different types of religions being similar. I feel that by doing this topic I will not only get a good essay topic, but I will also learn so much from doing the research for the essay. I really think that I will have a lot of strong support as well as plenty to write about! My issue is very interesting to me and conserns nearly everybody on this planet. I have debating on the audiance, but I feel that I could write it to a number of audiances such as maybe the pope, priests, monks, etc, etc. I’m really looking foreward to getting this started, I think that it’s a great idea!

For essay number two, what I really hope is that because I am writing my essay kind of “backwards” compared to the essay assignment, I really hope that I do it correctly so that it not only okay, but it really makes my points powerful. Hopefully, my topics that I choose to put in essay number two all work with my thesis, they have strong support, and that they all work together and help my essay be fluid. One other minor thing, is that I really have to spell people’s names right in the works cited page (I love being the world’s top speller). Because I have never really used synthesis before, I am really excited to try it in this essay, which I hope will make my paper even stronger and more reliable. I definitely think that essay number two built up from not only essay number one, but every single essay or paper that I have ever written because the more you practice writing essays, the more you will understand different strengths and weaknesses, which in turn will make my essay number two be one of my better essays yet.

Although there are many different ways that I start on essays, I would say that I have been practicing the writing process that the authors of From Inquiry to Academic Writing suggest for this essay. The reason that I have been using this process because it is normally how I approach an essay, and also because it seems like the natural, easy way to go. I start off with reading my articles a couple of times and annotating. After I pick them apart I chose a common topic which is found in all three of the articles that I can use as the thesis statement for my essay. My thesis is strong because it deals with a topic that is arguable and not bias. Also, I will be able to use synthesis correctly because it is not only explained in the textbook, but I learned a lot of synthesis through class time and homework, and I can use synthesis to support my main topics. Of course, my essay will have proper MLA format, which is discussed in the textbook, and a correct works cited page. I think that the authors have shown me the correct path to take so that I can approach this essay with confidence.

There have been many instances where I have to use synthesis in order persuade my parents so that I can do what I wish, because they is very difficult to convince, I need multiple strong supports for my position. One instance where I had to persuade my parents was when I wanted to get our first dog. I was fourteen years old when I first used synthesis without knowing it. A Siberian Husky was the dog of my dream, and I just had to have one!

At first I just would simply as my mom or dad if we could have one and the answer was always no, so I decided to hint to them through other means. My first idea was to take as many dog magazines from my aunt that I could so that I could cut out all of the Siberian Husky pictures that I could in order to place them all over the house, allowing my parents to see how cute they were in the snow! Next, I looked though many days worth of newspaper in order to find all of the dogs that were for sale with the location and price, and I would smoothly lay them around the house, too. Karlee, my best friend, has had a Siberian Husky practically her whole life, so I had her talk to my parents about getting me a dog. Through all of this hard work and planning I had been doing, my parents replied that those pure breed dogs cost a lot of money, so I started saving a jar of money that I let out for them to see which could be used for the vet, food, or payment of the dog.

This however was not all that I did, I also started searching for Siberian Husky mixes. Through tons of searching I finally found a family that had a litter of Siberian Husky/German Shepherd mix (which is even better because it is my two favorite breeds) which were selling them for free, and just so happen to live right beside my grandparents five miles away. Perfect! So… I wondered if my parents wanted to go visit grandma and grandpa. They did and I had them first follow me to the neighbors, where we talked to the family and played with the dogs. After all of this work, I finally got to take home my first dog, Minka, the Siberian Husky German Shepherd!

After reading three of the articles in Chapter 16, it is obvious that all three of the authors feel the need to concern the topic of technology. Although technology is the basic idea in each of the articles, the authors branch the idea of technology into different directions. I do think that technology is important and very helpful because it allows me to learn whatever I want as well as do tasks much faster than if I did not have technology. Technology makes life easier, but what goes along with that are some things that are bad, too. I think that technology makes people stop appreciating simple things in life as well as makes them less dynamic and lazier. I do sometimes wonder if technology is beneficial to humans or not, and it appears that many of the authors feel the same way. By using these three articles for reference to my next essay, I am confident that I will be able to pull out some great quotes to back up my own ideas of technology, just as they referenced other writers for their essays on technology. My question of whether or not technology is a good thing or not is definitely controversial, so when I write this paper I will be able to present both sides and explain why my opinion is better by supporting my ideas from the three articles of Chapter 16. The audience could be to those Americans who solely depend on technology for all of their daily tasks.
